If you love Argentine or Japanese restaurants, then I highly recommend these two I have been to in London’s swanky Mayfair. Click on the links to read my personal, solo dining review.
Tucked behind Regent Street, a few minutes walk from Piccadilly Circus is this Argentine restaurant. Gaucho is one of a chain of restaurants in London. The outdoor dining area is beautiful, carpeted in astro turf behind smoked glass, it has a garden feel to it. The menu includes a selection of quintessentially Argentine dishes as well as steaks from premium Black Angus cattle of various cuts and weights. I thoroughly enjoyed the burger I had which was topped with Monterey Jack, bacon, onion, peppered mayonnaise, guindilla chilli peppers, tomato and lettuce.
Sakagura is a stylish Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar. The food is first class, both in taste and presentation. The raindrop cake I had here was very special – clear agar, umeshu jelly with cherry blossom and gold flake. Sakagura offers plenty of seating areas suitable for solo dining as well as menus for one! Alternatively, select dishes from the a la carte menu unless you prefer to grill on your own personal barbecue or cook on a hot lava stone. If you are looking to totally spoil yourself then Sakagura is the place to come.
