London is the capital city of England, with the River Thames running through it. It is steeped in history, full of interesting architecture and offers many exciting things to do for the solo traveller. London is packed with wonderful places to eat, with cuisines from all over the world to choose from. Here are a selection of my favourite photos of London I have taken on my visits…
London’s architecture is extremely varied, from modern skyscrapers, Victorian houses, Georgian Squares and listed buildings.
Have a look at my blog post which includes photos of London architecture and includes images of ‘must see’ iconic buildings when visiting.
I have enjoyed and can recommend some wonderful activities in London. There are many fantastic museums, some of which have a low profile. Cookery courses are great solo activities to get involved in too. I can recommend a cheese making course and an Indian cookery course so far. Walking tours are fun and can be tailor made to suit your needs if self-guided. There are, of course, all the well known activities such as Madame Tussauds, The London Eye and London Aquarium. For further details, check out my page of recommended solo activities.
There are plenty of restaurants which offer some great choices to suit all budgets. Have a look at some of my favourites on my London Restaurants page.
London is home to some beautiful parks. They are free to enter but may have some chargeable activities once you are inside.
