Manly Wharf

Manly Wharf

Manly Wharf is a buzzing place to be.  It is a hive of activity.  Some people are heading out of Manly to go to Circular Quay.  Others, getting off the ferry to come into Manly.

Where to Eat at Manly Wharf

The wharf itself contains a number of sit down restaurants and snack bars including Hugos, Chat Thai and The Bavarian Beer Cafe and Guzman Y Gomez Mexican Taqueria.  Hugo’s and The Bavarian Beer Cafe are located on the water’s edge and are idyllic places to watch the sunset.

The Noisy Lorikeets at Manly Wharf

As the sun starts to set, the noise from the lorikeets heading back to the trees to sleep is phenomenal!

Manly Kayak Centre is also located here.  You can book a number of trips from here, hire a self-drive boat, a SUP or a kayak. The service is very good.

Manly Beaches

There are 2 areas of beach at Manly Wharf here, one Harbourside, where the small boats are moored up and the ferries come in.

The other area of beach has a safe swimming area with shark net.  The sea wall or the sand is a perfect spot to have a takeaway and watch the sunset. The views really are amazing from here.

Once it gets dark, the beach area is patrolled by volunteers wardens, to protect the Little Penguins.  You may be lucky enough to spot one as they return to their burrows at sunset!  They come to Manly to breed every year between May-February.
