The music starts at 4pm. The atmosphere at Shirley Heights is incredible. The area is filled with smells from the barbecue, people listening and dancing to the steel bands. Vendors sell a range of souvenirs, some are seated with tables for you to browse, others will be shaking rattles encouraging you to purchase from them.
A very talented man makes various items from bamboo for you to buy. Unless you are lucky enough to be given one for free….or two…
The Steel Band
From 4pm the super talented steel band plays. They really are amazing to watch.
The Views and Sunsets
The views and sunsets from Shirley Heights lookout are breathtaking. These two photos were taken on the same evening…
As night falls, the steel band leave and the reggae band arrives. Dancing and partying goes on until around 10pm.
