About The Avocado Show

This exciting and unique restaurant prides itself on using avocados grown in an eco friendly. They are also transported in a socially responsible way. The farmers and growers used are family businesses in Chile, Mexico, South Africa and Peru. They have been growing avocados for many generations.

The Restaurant

The restaurant is extremely popular. I recommend arriving early for a table as reservations are not accepted. Arriving at 11:45am on a Sunday, the wait for a table was around an hour with growing queues. Once greeted, the server takes your telephone number and calls when your table is ready. This leaves you free to browse the local area while you wait.

The Seating Area

The restaurant is quite small with a bar that leads to the open kitchen. As a solo diner, it is entertaining to watch the cocktails being made. A large neon sign is the focal point of one wall. Shelves are filled with plants and cookery books. The latter are available for purchase. Each of the glass topped, wooden dining tables has a cactus on top.

The Menu

Egg Dishes

Prices start from Euros 13.25 for dishes such as The Smokey Salmon. Two poached eggs are served in avocado halves with an English muffin on the side. Theses are then topped with smoked salmon, avocado, hollandaise sauce, mixed leaves and flowers.

Other egg dishes are as above, but with bacon or sautéed spinach instead of the smoked salmon.

Pancakes

A choice of sweet or savoury pancakes with various toppings, cost upwards of Euros 12.25.

Toast

The toast is served with a variety of toppings. Vegan choices include…

  • Red beet hummus, pickled beets, black sesame seeds and beet leaves, served with an avocado rose on top.

The Bun Burger

Two half buns of avocado are filled with black Angus beef, crispy bacon, rocket, tomato, red onion and grill sauce. An extra topping of cheese is recommended! The dish is served with triple dip nachos.

My main course

The food at Avocado Show is delicious. The mini patty, cooked to perfection, fits snugly inside the creamy ‘avocado bun’.

Side Dishes from Euros 6.25

Side dishes include panko breaded avocado fries. These are accompanied by a choice of truffle, mango or wasabi mayonnaise.

Desserts ranged from Euros 7.50-8.50

  • Avocado and choc chip ice cream served on black cones
  • The Very Berry Waffle – sugar waffle with raspberries, blueberries, chocolate and fresh mint served with an avocado rose on top.

The Oreo Cheesecake

Crushed oreo cookies are topped with cream cheese, vanilla and a tart berry coulis. This dish is a wonderful contrast of textures and flavours.
