Sydney hotels come in all shapes and sizes to suit all budgets.  Hostels are available, Air BnB is popular, or hotels with varying star ratings.  The two hotels I chose were very reasonably priced.

Unless you are keen to unpack your suitcase just once on your trip, it might be worth considering more than one hotel to explore different areas.  For example I spent the majority of my time in Manly but then booked an overnighter in The Hunter Valley too.  Just as well since there are a number of wine tours and tasting available in this region!

The Sebel Manly Beach, Sydney

For this trip I wanted to be based around Manly, a popular beach suburb on the Northern peninsula.  I decided to stay at The Sebel Manly Beach  due to its beachfront location, close proximity to the shops and restaurants and competitive price at the time of booking.  Click on the following for more information…

Pokolbin Village, Hunter Valley

I also spent a night at the Hunter Valley vineyards and stayed in a hotel resort called Pokolbin Village.  Pokolbin Village is a 40 acre resort.  There were lots of chalet style cabins around the grounds with shops and restaurants nearby and a swimming pool and tennis courts too.  Barbecue areas are available for use if you don’t want to go to one of the restaurants.  The pool is very useful at some times of the year.  I went in September which is just the start of Spring but it seems the temperatures can sometimes get up to the high 40s…or more!!
