What can I say… it’s my favourite City and a place I come to a lot on my own. There are so many stunning, iconic buildings here, St Paul’s Cathedral, Big Ben, The Shard, The Gherkin, Walkie Talkie Building and the Cheesegrater to name but a few!
There are many things to do in this City and each time I visit, I seem to find somewhere new! Samuel Johnson, an English writer, once quoted ‘when a man is tired of London he is tired of life’. I can see what he meant by this.
It is very easy to make your way around having a great network of both overground and underground trains, as well as frequent bus services and black cabs. Many of the things to do here are within close proximity of each other, so with careful planning, you can walk to them. Bicycles are available for hire through hire companies or the ‘Boris Johnson cycle scheme’.
I travel into London most weeks for one reason or another so that is why I have decided to add it to my list of places to write solo travel reviews. William Shenstone, an English Poet said ‘Nothing is certain in London but expense’. I disagree. There are many things to do if you are on a budget. I will make sure to include some great places to visit to avoid spending lots of money.
