Il Ragno Blu, Via Lago di Garda, 6/a 09049 Villasimius, CA
5 minutes walk from the highly recommended Hotel Cala Caterina, Villasimius
About the restaurant, Il Ragno Blu
Il Ragno Blu is a charming, family run restaurant serving modern, International and traditional Sardinian dishes, as well as a wide range of wood fired pizzas. Its elevated position offers far reaching views over the Sardinian countryside and the bay of Santo Stefano. Il Ragno Blu is a beautiful place to dine and watch the sun go down.
Seating Area at Il Ragno Blu
The main dining hall is accessed via a number of steps. It is brightly lit by chandeliers and surrounded by huge windows that slide right back allowing a breeze to filter through.
Menu choices include many seafood dishes including some Sardinian favourites…
- Mussel & Arselle soup
- Risotto with cuttlefish ink
- Vernaccia bass with olives, potatoes and tomatoes
Wood fired pizzas include the following types…
- Speck and rocket
Lobster with spaghetti is highly recommended. Atop the flavour filled al dente pasta is succulent lobster cooked to perfection. Portion sizes are big enough to share so if dining alone, order a starter to come out as the main course. Chances are it will still be too much…
… A portion served to me by the waitress tableside.
In the past, Il Ragno Blu has attracted customers such as Gorbachev and Versace.
Food is generally reasonably priced considering the portion sizes. Lobster cost Euros 45, bread Euros 2.50, a glass of good white wine, Euros 4. Pizzas start from Euros 15.
Staff and service
The staff are professional, efficient and friendly and food and drinks served promptly. Throughout the meal, waiting staff are attentive.
Would I return?
I would love to return to Il Ragno Blu if I return to Villasimius for the following reasons…
- Clientele is a mix of locals and tourists
- Traditional Sardinian dishes are served
- Food is outstanding
- Window seats with stunning sunset views
- Friendly and professional staff
